Details: In recent classes we've some solid work on the front side of the rib cage, including right chest wall expansion as well as feeling the side and lower abs contracting during exhale. But what about the back of the rib cage? An area know as the Posterior Mediastinum is particualr important for our movement health and posture and that's where our focus will be in today's class. Particularly the left upper back. This will be great for anybody who feels particularly tight in the mid-upper back, has limited rotation in their trunk or feels like they have a forward head posture.
Equipment:
You'll need the following equipment:
- A mat.
- Some wall space.
- A pillow.
- A rolled up towel.
- A hardback book.
- A chair, high stool or elevated surface to lean on.
- A Pilates ball, foam roller (or similar).
- Supportive shoes (optional but recommended).
